For the last 20 years the solution to at least 50% of my computer problems is “reboot.”  Interestingly this is no longer a PC problem.  While working on getting Amy’s Mac set up this weekend, I rebooted TWICE.  I rebooted (turn off – wait 15 seconds – turn back on) my car this morning when the radio didn’t come on.  I had to reboot my iPod this morning because it was frozen.  My Garmin watch needed rebooting on Friday because – hell – I don’t know.  The solution to the problem with my new Sony PS/3 – unplug it and plug it back in.  Troubleshooting tip #1 on my new Dish HD receiver – turn it off and turn it back on.  Don’t even get me started about my Vista boxes.

I put this in the category of “fucking stupid.”  It’s not going to work to have to reboot my consciousness 20 years from now.

My friend Kimbal Musk (owner of The Kitchen and CEO of Me.dium) is in GwangJu, South Korea with his wife Jen installing her light harp.  As usual, Kimbal is hysterical.  A typical paragraph:

“And NO ONE speaks english.  It’s like we’re aliens.  They can’t even read the tourist map.  We spent about 45 minutes in an insane, high speed taxi ride trying to explain where we wanted to go by pointing at the map the hotel gave us.  I think the map we got was a joke played on the only western tourists to hit GwangJu this year. The cab driver thought we were retarded.  We thought he was out to kill us.”

Praise to my friends at Lijit for pledging 1% of their equity to the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado.  Lijit is the seventh company that has formally announced their participation in the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado this year.  There are seven more that have joined but not yet announced – look for these announcements over the next few weeks.
