Boulder Startup Week

It’s awesome how Startup Week and Weekend have grown from an experiment here in Boulder into a global set of events that are now housed under the Techstars umbrella. I’m not doing my usual crazy schedule of running around to panels and events as I’ll be out of town for most of the week but wanted to highlight a few events I’m especially excited about. Amy and I supported the Pledge 1% Colorado Nonprofit Pitch contest last year with a $10,000 grant through our Anchor Point Foundation and are happily doing it again this year. This and other Social Impact Track events are working to engage the broader startup community and expand Startup Week beyond just high-tech startups. ...

The final event at Boulder Startup Week a few months ago was Founder Fights . A bunch of founders got in a boxing ring for a real, USA Boxing sanctioned event (three rounds, two minutes each). Boulder Startup Week , a five day celebration of the tech scene here in Boulder, is offering several free plane tickets to people who would consider relocating. Since I moved to Boulder in 1995, I’ve watched and participated in the evolution of an amazing startup community which I believe currently has the highest entrepreneurial density in the United States. On top of the the hundreds of open tech company positions, Boulder has an incredible quality of life which I believe makes it the best small city in the United States to live in. ...
